Try It FreeHow working days are counted
The calculator counts every day from the start date to the end date, including both, then takes away Saturdays, Sundays and any public holidays that fall on a weekday. A public holiday that falls on a weekend is only taken away once.
It uses national public holidays, so regional holidays (for example in Scotland, or individual German states) aren't included. If someone works part-time or different days of the week, the number of days they actually work will be lower.
Common questions
How many working days are there in a year?
Usually between 250 and 255 in most countries, depending on how many public holidays fall on weekdays. Enter 1 January to 31 December to see the exact number for a country and year.
Can I use this to work out how much leave someone needs?
Yes. Enter the first and last day of the time off, and the working days figure is the number of days of annual leave it uses for someone who works Monday to Friday.
